TV3 Slovenia

TV3 was a television channel in Slovenia owned by Modern Times Group (MTG). The channel was also known as Prva TV from 1 November 2004 to 1 October 2006.
It was well known for broadcasting successful US series, such as ''24'', ''Battlestar Galactica'' (''Bojna ladja Galaktika''), ''Heroes'' (''Heroji''), ''Smallville'', ''The Office'' (''Pisarna'') as well as US reality shows, such as ''America's Next Top Model'' (''Ameriški top model''), ''Nanny 911'' (''Varuška, na pomoč!''), ''Outback Jack'' (''Jack iz divjine''), ''Average Joe'' (''Povprečni Joe'') and mostly Nickelodeon cartoons including ''Avatar: The Last Airbender'' (''Avatar''), ''SpongeBob SquarePants'' (''Spuži Kvadratnik''), Jimmy Neutron and others.
On 3 June 2008, TV3 began broadcasting in Slovenian DVB-T network and it was disconnected on 1 September 2008.
In 2009, TV3 aired Slovenian version of The Moment of Truth and a localised version of Survivor (in cooperation with Fox TV Serbia).
==History==
The station began as TV3 on 24 December 1995. Majority ownership was originally held by the Roman Catholic Church, and much of the initial programming was faith-oriented.
TV3 encountered poor ratings and financial losses from its outset, with a reported ratings share of 1.2%. On 13 February 2003, Ivan Caleta, a businessman from Croatia, purchased 75% ownership of TV3 then proceeded to offer more popular programming. Viewership in 2004 increased to a 1.7% audience share, but remained a distant fifth place behind other public and private television services in Slovenia.
On 1 November 2004, the channel's name was changed to Prva TV. On 1 July 2006 Prva TV was bought by Swedish media company Modern Times Group. On 1 October 2006, the channel's name was changed back to TV3, this time in reference to the Modern Times Group corporate brand TV3 Viasat.
On 29 February 2012, it ceased broadcasting due to uncompetitive environment and unresponsiveness of Slovenian authorities.〔(Televizijski program TV3 se poslavlja s slovenskega trga (dopolnjeno) ). STA. 4 January 2012.〕
